Choosing a board:

What parts are in a complete skateboard?

Here is the anatomy of a complete skateboard. These are also all of the items we must have ordered to build a custom complete.

a - Skateboard Deck

b - Skateboard Truck [axle assembly that turns the skateboard.]

c - Skateboard Wheel

d - Bearing

e - Bearing Spacer [correct spacing for bearings.]

f - Screw [used to assemble trucks to the deck.]

g - Riser [adjusts height of trucks from deck.]

h - Hardware Nut

i - Seating Washer [keeps hardware tight, clean assembly.]

j - Speed Washer [proper spacing and reduces friction.]

k - Axle Nut [holds wheel assemble onto the axle.]

l - Bushing [determines how easily the truck will turn.]

What do the numbers next to the wheel descriptions mean?

The first number is the diameter, which reads in millimeters, like 76mm. The next number is the hardness. The higher the number, the harder the wheel is, and the opposite for smaller numbers. the letter "a" is the scale in durometer. 97a would be softer and stickier, and 101a would be harder and faster.

What is the contact patch?

The contact patch is the rubber that meets the road. Have you ever stuck your lips on a window for everyone inside to see? Imaging pushing a soft wheel on the same window. The impression that you see is the contact patch of that wheel under pressure.

What is Concave?

Concave adds leverage for your toes and heels while turning a board.

Why do some boards use fiberglass?

Fiberglass is used to create a composite sandwich structure. The use of fibreglass or carbon fiber along with wood or similar core materials, makes a deck many times stronger than just fiberglass or wood used alone. Composite structures also add more life to a board.

Stock:

I want to order a complete board, but when I add the item to my shopping cart, a part shows out of stock. What do I do?

A complete skateboard may show a part like wheels that are out of stock in your cart. You may order the skateboard and wait for the part to come back into stock, or you may replace the part with another part, such as different wheels that are in stock.

If an item shows out of stock, when will it be back in stock?

We attempt to place orders when stock becomes low. Chances are that the item is in transit and will be in stock soon.
